About NEEM

New England Event Management was established in 2003 by Tom and Heather Hagerty to provide professional, personal event management services to Boston-area businesses and organizations. As avid runners, we are acutely aware of the logistics, time and preparation involved in putting together a successful event. Our goal is to assist our clients by utilizing and sharing our experience and knowledge for the benefit of their organizations and the running community.

NEEM is the culmination of both our vocation and avocation. As such, we have chosen to limit the number of clients with whom we work in a given season. We will not take on more events than we feel we can support -- our guiding principal is if you can't do it right, it's not worth doing. Your event will speak volumes about your organization, and first impressions are critical.

About Us

Tom Hagerty
Tom is a mechanical engineer at a leading Boston-based engineering and design firm. When not engrossed in his work, he is a member and former president of the Somerville Road Runners. He has directed dozens of events, from local fun runs to highly competitive road races, including the Little Bobby Memorial 5K and Khoury’s Summer Steamer.

Heather Hagerty
Heather is a professional fundraiser by day, race director by night. Also a member of the Somerville Road Runners, Heather runs the Boston Marathon every year to raise money for cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She is the former race director of the Black Cat Classic 5K, a popular South Shore charity race which raised nearly $150,000 in its seven year series for the Brittany Lambert Foundation.

Both Heather and Tom are members of USATF-New England.
